Your piece begins when you choose it.
Every State of Dress piece is cut and made in London, one at a time, and only after it has been chosen. It is not taken from a rail of finished stock. It is made for you by someone who has been given the time to do it properly.
Depending on the garment and the current queue, standard-size pieces are usually ready to dispatch within two to four weeks. Pieces made to custom measurements, or with adjustments to their original proportions, may take between four and six weeks.

If standard sizing is not quite right for you, please get in touch before ordering. Where the design allows, we are very happy to accommodate custom measurements or adjustments to the original proportions.
We may also be able to make changes to hemlines or sleeves. Not every dress can be altered in every way, so tell us what you have in mind and we will let you know what is possible. Additional costs and making times may apply.
AMENDMENTS
Changed your mind about a measurement? It happens.
You may amend your order within 24 hours of placing it. After that, your piece may already have entered the cutting room and we cannot promise that further changes will be possible.
Complimentary delivery is included on all UK orders.
Shipping costs and estimated delivery times for international orders will be shown at checkout.
For orders outside the UK, local duties and taxes may be charged when your piece reaches its destination. These are not included in the price of your order and remain the responsibility of the recipient.
SHIPPING & INTERNATIONAL DUTIES
We hope you love your piece. If it isn't quite right, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and we will send you everything you need to return it.
Returned pieces must be unworn, in their original condition and with all tags attached.
Return postage is the responsibility of the customer. As our pieces are of a higher value, we strongly recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured service. State of Dress cannot be responsible for returns that are lost or damaged in transit.
Once your return has reached us and been checked, we will let you know and arrange your refund to the original payment method.
Pieces made or altered specifically to your measurements cannot usually be returned unless faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
